Aigle clothing

The French company Aigle was founded in 1853 by Hiram Hutchinson, the American citizen of British origin. At first the company was called A L’Aigle in honour of the eagle – the symbol of America. After the rubber vulcanisation process was developed, Hutchinson bought the patent for manufacturing footwear and clothing, made of this hardwearing waterproof material.

The company was rapidly developing. In the beginning of the 20th century the product range expanded quite notably. The company started manufacturing raincoats, tennis shoes and horseback riding boots. In 1989 the company launched the Outdoor Wear line - waterproof clothes, which gained great popularity in France.

In 2005 the company's name was changed into Aigle. Today it is one of the world's most famous brands, which is 160 years old. The guarantee of the highest quality of Aigle products is its all-time highly professional attitude to the manufacturing process – the rubber is processed with great accuracy and the footwear is still hand crafted.
