It is a plain design: no fastening, a bound edge round the collar, and a single seam running down the centre of the vamp picked out in a lighter thread.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eChatham make the Glen from sheepskin with the wool turned inwards. The outer face is dark brown with a lightly distressed finish, so marks read as part of the character rather than as damage. Inside, a dense cream fleece lines the footbed and spills over the collar where the heel sits. Underneath is a moulded outsole with a shallow tread and a low heel, firmer than the felt or suede sole used on many house slippers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBeing a mule, there is no back to hold the heel. That is the point of the design and also its limit: you step in and out without bending down, and the slipper will not stay put if you take the stairs at speed.
