The Clarks Desert Boot Navy is by Clarks — the English shoemaker founded in Somerset in 1825. The Desert Boot was designed by Nathan Clark in 1950, inspired by a crepe-soled chukka he saw being made in the bazaars of Cairo for British officers stationed in North Africa. The design has been continuously produced ever since, becoming one of the most influential casual boots in the world.
Two-eyelet chukka construction in suede or leather, with the trademark Clarks crepe sole that absorbs the impact of walking and ages with character. The interior is lined with leather, the upper is hand-cut, and the silhouette has been refined only marginally over 75 years of production.
Desert Boots are versatile — appropriate with jeans, chinos, casual suits, knitwear, and shirts. The natural crepe sole means they wear in rather than wearing out, and the leather or suede upper softens with use.
