Navy suede fills the panel over the quarters and the laces match it. The effect is quieter than the cedar version. The two colours are close enough in depth that the contrast registers as texture first and colour second.

Like every McClean this is a full brogue oxford on the 443 last in an F fitting, designed and made in Northampton. It is Goodyear welted to a full leather sole, fully leather lined over a leather insole, and the brogue pattern is finished with hand-stitched detailing. UK sizes 6 to 12.
Also stocked: cedar calf with blue suede, brighter and warmer, and antique rosewood paisley, which uses no suede at all.
Care: Hand-painted leather rewards a neutral wax. A coloured cream will even out the shading the finishing was done to create, which is the opposite of what you want. Brush the navy suede separately and keep polish away from it. Trees after every wear.
