The Stables is a Chelsea boot in the traditional form: a tan calf upper, elasticated side panels and a leather sole, on what John White call their True Gentleman's Last. The leather sole is what sets it apart from most Chelsea boots sold today. It is slimmer, quieter and more formal than rubber, so the boot can be worn with tailoring as well as with jeans.
Tan calf is the more relaxed of the two colours and the one that ages most visibly, deepening on the toe and around the heel with polish and wear.
John White no longer make the Stables. This is the last pair we hold in tan, and it is in the Outlet: a single pair in UK 8. The Stables in black is also in the Outlet, in UK 10 and 12.

Care: A tan or neutral cream on the upper, wax on the toe if you want a shine, and a leather dressing on the sole edge now and then. Leather soles are slippery until they have scuffed in, so take the first few wears gently, and let a wet pair dry slowly, away from heat.
