Mr. Barker was a passionate shoe maker and with time his business began to grow. Arthur hired his eldest son and used him as a leather importer to help with the expanding nature of the business. The enterprise grew rapidly, taking an international momentum to the point where 75% of the business was exported to South Africa.
Representative of the durable shoes themselves Barkers as a company survived 2 world wars and dangerous times of adversity. As the company’s reputation prevailed, Barkers shoes became one of the most sought after shoe designs in the world. Created with an aura of English luxury, Barkers have become one of the most sough-after and recognised brands in the world.

Barker’s shoes are made with knowledge, skins and finesse of 130 years of shoe making.
